A federated search source is a collection of settings that connect to a search provider that offers titles from a group of sources, and define how to interpret the data that is returned from a federated search source, such as EBSCO or a Z39.50 search.
Federated searches also let you include Academic Reserves materials that are managed in Symphony in Portfolio Searching.
